Standing in the doorway was a woman you have never seen before, flanked by two kids who looked oddly familiar.
The atmosphere shifted instantly. The warm, cozy vibe that had filled the house moments before was
replaced by an awkward tension. The kids darted around, throwing themselves onto the couch And then it happened.
Your uncle secret life exploded in front of us. His OTHER FAMILY, the one you never knew about was not just here to ruin dinner.
They had other plans. In the middle of the chaos, when no one was looking, the youngest of the two kids made a beeline for the living room.
You did not think anything of it until you heard the faintest click. The Xbox was gone.
You turned just in time to see the kid, grinning, run out the front door with the console tucked under his arm.
The woman and the man followed quickly behind, waving cheerfully as if they just won a prize.
My uncle, finally breaking his stunned silence, mumbled something about how "it was not supposed to be like this."
The rest of you sat there, stunned, with plates half-full and hearts heavy.
"Thanksgiving falls apart when your uncle secret family shows up, stirs up chaos, and steals the Xbox on their way out."
And just like that, the door closed behind them, and they were gone.
